In May of 1964, seven young women at the University of Missouri-Columbia organized an interest group called Those Interested in Delta. Immediately, they began working toward establishing a local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta. In keeping with Delta’s aims, TID began its program of community service. Members volunteered their time to teach Sunday school classes to hospitalized children, to help the mentally impaired, and to baby-sit for mothers during elections so they could vote. Two years later, on May 21, 1966, twelve women (The D-Dynamic Delta Dozen) were initiated into our glorious sorority, and Epsilon Psi was chartered.
